An Australian Ruddock (My DNA blood brother) and I have been collecting Irish related Ruddock genealogical information for several years.
We are part of a small group of yDNA connected individuals who represent seven different but connected family trees who are primarily Ruddocks. We also have two Ruddick trees and a Hull tree and a Marshall tree. We are attempting to identify the source of these connections and in my case, I am trying to identify where my 5th great grandfather came from. These various families come from the Irish Counties of Armagh, Carlow, Cork, Dublin, Wexford and Wicklow. The Marshall tree is from New Zealand with Irish connections.
The Cork group of Ruddocks have strong ties to Bristol, to New Brunswick, Canada, and to Australia. The Wexford branch has a direct tie to Australia. The Armagh group of Ruddicks have a strong tie to Gallatin, Illinois. My line of Ruddicks which were originally Ruddock begin in very early Pennsylvania.
We are hoping to make connections with Ruddock researchers who might connect and strongly encourage the men to join us with yDNA testing.
Lewis M. Ruddick
